You should give it a try - start with something simple and go from there. Once you get the hang of it it is very therapeutic. Anything more complicated and I can do it for you!

I started knitting at school at around the age of 8. I thought I'd stop around the age of 80, but now I'm 91 and still going strong!

Having a loving family.

Red wine, closely followed by another glass of red wine..

"Get me a ball of steel wool and I'll knit you a car" is a little ambitious for beginners.

1973/4 due to ex wife competition! - there was no way he was walking around in clothes she had knitted so I learned quick sharp!

Cleaning the house.

I'm a bit past heartthrobs, but lets say George, a Chelsea pensioner I met recently at a Glenn Miller tribute concert.

Aged four, self taught.

What gives you the most pleasure in life?
Being involved with the grandchildren - they include me in everything they do.

Look on the bright side, you cant be optimistic with a misty optic!

I started knitting at an early age, so early I cannot remember. My mother always knit. We always wore fair isle sweaters with kilts in the winter.

What do you think is the meaning of life?
Being aware of everything around you, using all the senses you have been given.

Advice for customers on knitting?
Always check the tension, never leave a row half finished and use the correct wool for the pattern.

Who is your heartthrob and why?
My husband is my heartthrob because I love him.

When and how did you start knitting?
One Christmas in France a great friend, Nicola Gulliver taught me. My first complete knitted tie was on a journey from France to London where I used two pencils and some string!

What do you feel are your greatest lifetime achievements?
Not sure yet, need to live a bit more.

What do you think is the meaning of life?
Well I would quote my good friend Paddy who would say perhaps asking what the meaning of life is, is like asking what the meaning of a mountain is. Maybe it has no answer. Maybe, like the mountain, it just 'is'.

 What gives you the most pleasure in life?
Spending time with my grand parents who are the best people I know.

What was the best job you ever did and why?
Playing a pirate on Pirates of the Caribbean III with my mate Tom, nuff said.

when and how did you start knitting

i started knitting when i was pregnant with my eldest daughter, i wanted all the lacy little matinee jackets but my mother was too busy knitting arans for a company to do them for me so i taught myself


what is your earliest memory?

visiting my great great aunts dressmakers studio & being awe of all the beautiful dresses she made

in 20's - getting glammed up & going clubbing, now, a dvd, glass of wine, kids in bed & feet up with my knitting :)

ra-ra skirts & leg-warmers with orange stilettos!! (i was only 15 though!)

when was the last time you laughed until you cried?

yesterday actually, my 4yr old has such an infectious laugh that starts everyone off
